Botswana is a major producer of the world’s diamonds and has been a pacesetter for beneficiation in the country. All mineral sources are finite: Botswana is working towards diversifying the economy before the diamonds run out. Imogen Mogotsi holds a PhD from the University of Sussex. She has worked for the Department of
Economics, University of Botswana for 42 years.
Lesego Sekwati with PhD in Economics from the University of Wollongong, Australia, has taught and researched a wide range of economic development issues at the University of Botswana for the past 13 years.
Nettimi Narayana is a retired Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, University of
Botswana.
